The Sacramento Warlords Basketball Program was established in 1993 to provide more Sacramento area youth with the opportunity to participate in the competitive Asian club basketball experience. Currently, we support boys and girls teams from grades 7 through 12. Our teams compete in tournaments throughout California, hosted by like organizations within the Asian-American community. For more information, please read our Program Overview.
In 1993, Raymond Lee and his wife, Nancy, envisioned a program that would provide more youth of the Sacramento Asian-American community with the chance to compete in organized sports. With the help of Carole and Jerry Chong, Beverly and Rodney Yung, Mr. Barry Lim and the Confucius Physical Fitness Program, this vision became a reality. The Sacramento Warlords consisted of a single boys team in its inaugural season. Twenty years later, the program now supports teams of boys and girls, grades 7 through 12. The program is sustained by the efforts of many dedicated coaches, devoted parents, and loyal volunteers.
The Sacramento Warlords Basketball Program seeks to provide a positive environment where youths of Asian ancestry can participate in the sports experience, improve their self-esteem, and develop good character. We hope to instill the values of friendship, sportsmanship and community within all of our participants, and to teach our youth that they have the responsibility to continue the legacy of this program for future generations.
