Youth Summer Camp
History
In 1996, the Sacramento Warlords and Chinese Community Church Basketball Program held a camp to improve the skills of their players. Led by Warlord coach Tommy Fanner, “Summer Hoops ’96” was a successful event that revealed a desire for a clinic targeting younger age groups. Subsequently, the Warlords Class of 1999 began to host an annual youth summer camp. Although the ’99 Boys would go on to graduate, the demand for camp remained.
A Summer Tradition
Today, the Sacramento Warlords Youth Summer Camp is a highly anticipated event where many return-campers (and some first-timers) enjoy three weeks of drills, games, and treats. Warlords players, alumni and friends serve as instructors to kids entering the first through fifth grades. Registration is $80 per participant, and includes a camp t-shirt and group picture. Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“The emphasis on the fundamentals is second to none compared to other camps in the Sacramento area. The coach to player ratio is awesome.”
“This camp was outstanding. The coaching and instruction were very impressive. What I thought was the most beneficial was the way the coaches worked with each child.”
“I like the quality of instruction and attitude of the player-coaches… Giving back by instruction is something that is admirable. Hopefully my kids will remember to do what these coaches do as they get older. Thanks!”
“The best camp! Wouldn’t miss it! Can’t wait ‘til next year!”
