History
In 1994, the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation (SASF) held its first basketball tournament fundraiser. SASF took this opportunity to introduce itself, and its purpose, to the community – Intro from the Inaugural “SASF New Year Classic” Basketball Tournament Program. The invitation for others to join “The Quest” for a community gym was well received, and SASF quickly grew with the support of numerous Sacramento-area organizations. In 2007, SASF achieved its goal and opened the doors to a community facility. In 2001, the Sacramento Warlords began to host a basketball tournament in its own name, in addition to helping at the SASF New Year Classic. Today, both organizations continue to serve the Sacramento Asian-American community and provide sport outlets for its youth.
